BINUS Alumni Receive International Award for a Housing Concept
In 2013 BINUS graduates of the architecture program Muhammad Egha, Sunjaya Askaria, Hezby Ryandi, and Fahmy Desrizal established Delution Architect, a successful architectural and interior design planning company in South Jakarta. The company won Architizer A+ Awards 2017 for the category of Small Living and Architecture. Architizer A+ Awards is an annual international award with an international body of judges from the architecture, fashion, publishing, product design, real estate development, and technology communities. This year, the award ceremony was held in New York, United States.
Delution Architect’s creation called Splow House (split-grow house) splits the interior of the 6×15 m house to fit three mezzanines for more space, light and ventilation. The smart design furniture such as foldable tables and storage under stairs helps add to the spaciousness. Besides, the house is protected from floods with many biopores. This house concept is budget friendly and expected to spread in the future, especially in countries such as Indonesia where space is valuable.
