Global Learning Adventures with BINUS UNIVERSITY’s Exchange Program

Jakarta, 11 December BINUS University’s ongoing focus on internationalization is a testament to its vision of becoming a world-class university. This is achieved through programs such as exchange student and study abroad programs, allowing our students to gain valuable international experiences and build relationships with peers at our partner universities abroad.

In this Odd semester of 2024/2025, our exchange students hail from an international mix including European nations like France, Belgium, Romania, Lithuania, and Russia; North American countries like Canada, the United States, and Mexico; and Asian countries such as South Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, China, and Japan.

As part of this exchange program, we also introduce students to cross-cultural awareness and invite them on a trip with BINUS University students to Hulu Cai in Ciawi, Bogor. This excursion allows them to directly experience the natural beauty of Indonesia and interact with the local community as part of our mission to empower and foster society.

“Studying at BINUS University in Indonesia offers a unique cultural journey with its rich traditions, vibrant festivals, and history. Students can explore ancient temples and engage with local communities,” said Sandra Elena Andrei, an international business student from Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania.

Yara Josephine Hendrika Hollebekkers, a communications student from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, shared how this exchange program provided her invaluable insights into Indonesian culture, including its manners, clothing, and language. Additionally, she developed her cross-cultural communication skills and adapted to a new education system.

Besides BINUS University’s strong standing as a leading private university in Indonesia, its campuses across different regions offer a special attraction for international students looking to participate in our exchange programs. This setup allows students to experience various Indonesian cultures and learning processes while on campus.

“The conferences we had with ambassadors and brand managers, where we worked on real-world projects, were one of the program’s highlights. I gained practical knowledge and built lasting relationships,” added Lilou Deronzier, our marketing exchange student from the IESEG School of Management, France.

Lastly, at BINUS University, students not only gain exposure to diverse cultures and enhance their communication skills but also have the chance to interact with decision-makers in government, international organizations, and the industry. Thank you for the testimonials revealing how the student exchange and study abroad programs have enriched their cultural experiences, practical learning, and intercultural communication, helped broaden students’ global perspectives, and enriched their educational journey at BINUS University.
