BINUS UNIVERSITY Hosts Binus Festival
From 29th November – 1st December 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY hosted its bi-yearly Binus Festival, an event held across all the university’s campuses and feature ‘internationalization’ seminars and workshops focusing on the diverse challenges of globalization. This year, the event covered the themes of education and innovation and how in recent years, Indonesia’s education industry has attempted to take on a wider role to spur genuine innovation to advance local industries.
Prominent speakers at the event included H.E. Mr. Anil Kumar Nayar as the Ambassador of Singapore to Indonesia, Ms Anne Yurico as the Manager of Indonesia for Amazon, and Commissioner of Trade & Investment Queensland Mr Ben Giles, among many others. The speakers highlighted to attendees that in order to foster innovation in education, government and industry leaders need to produce strategies that utilize innovation whether it be through changes in the education system or teaching methods, or the use of advanced technology to improve learning outcomes, productivity, and improve the efficiency of Indonesian students; therefore adding value to the local education sector.
Through the Binus Festival, BINUS UNIVERSITY aims to provide a platform from where its students can gain knowledge on topics that affect Indonesia’s long-term development.
