BINUS UNIVERSITY Hosts Guest Lecture by Iranian Ambassador
on 13th March 2017, BINUS UNIVERSITY hosted the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia H.E. Valiollah Mohammadi at its JWC campus in Jakarta. The Ambassador delivered a talk entitled ‘Iran at a Glance: Politics, Economy, and Culture’, which aimed to educate visitors on his country’s socio-economic challenges as well as its current strategies to achieve higher domestic productivity and self-sufficiency.
Furthermore, the Mr Mohammadi highlighted Iran and Indonesia’s close cooperation having first established diplomatic relations in 1950. Bilateral trade between the two countries have since been largely focused on the energy sector, and as such, the Ambassador believes this partnership will further improve through other industries such as tourism — regular flights from Tehran to the island resort of Bali opened in 2017 — agricultural products, dairy products, and textiles — most notably carpets.
In hosting the Iranian Ambassador, BINUS UNIVERSITY has showcased how through its extensive network of partners the university can deliver the utmost international student experience; vital aspects for graduates to effectively engage an increasingly globally-integrated world.
