BINUS UNIVERSITY welcomes UK Minister of State for Universities and Science
BINUS UNIVERSITY welcomed Minister of State for Universities and Science, Rt Hon David Willetts MP and delegation at BINUS INTERNATIONAL Campus, The Joseph Wibowo Center for Advanced Learning on last Tuesday, March 4.
They were warmly received by CEO BINA NUSANTARA, Ir. Bernard Gunawan; Rector, Prof. Dr. Harjanto Prabowo, and Director General for Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Djoko Santoso as representative from Indonesia’s government along with a host of number of BINUS’ officials and staff members.
The Minister for Universities and Science was an invited guest for the event at BINUS UNIVERSITY during a visit to Indonesia to promote UK education and training. David Willetts has welcomed the signing of a new partnership agreement between Northumbria University, Newcastle, and BINUS University in Indonesia.
BINUS INTERNATIONAL and Northumbria University have worked together since 2008. During that time staff and students from Northumbria have travelled to Indonesia to run workshops, take part in placements and for research projects. And the signing marks the next stage of this strategic partnership with the launch of BINUS-Northumbria School of Design (BNSD).
Northumbria University is one of Britain’s largest modern universities, with around 32,000 students, including approximately 3300 international students. Renowned for the excellence of its teaching, as well as for preparing students for the working world, Northumbria also provides research opportunities for professional reflective practice. Northumbria’s campus is located in the popular student city of Newcastle; a wonderful city known as the capital of England’s North East, it has a dramatic location on the River Tyne near the east coast and lies at the heart of one of Britain’s most beautiful and historic regions.
