Understanding Asian Cultures: Korean and Indonesian Cultural Festival
Last Wednesday, January 22, Faculty of Humanities BINUS UNIVERSITY in collaboration with Pioneer Students for Indonesia, South Korea organized a cultural exchange program titled "Understanding Asian Cultures: Korean and Indonesian Cultural Festival" at Hall, Kijang Campus. Opened with welcome speech from Dr. Johannes Rumeser, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, the program presented various cultural performance from both parties. The Korean delegation put on violin and guitar play, taekwondo, dancing, singing, drama and K-pop-esque show while BINUS student performed a mixed modern dance from East Nusa Tenggara Province, singing Korea song and re-enacting Sangkuriang drama play.
In the last session, students from both BINUS and Korea shared and exchanged information on their campus life – both academic and personal. With this event, the students can further develop their talents and skills in communication and become familiar and comfortable with the cultural diversity of both countries. It also gives the Korean delegation the occasion to develop friendships with Indonesians.
