IR Lecture Series: How the United Nations Engages With Academia

On December 18, 2015, International Relations Department, BINUS UNIVERSITY conducted its Lecture Series with topic “How the United Nations Engages With Academia” at Recreation Room, Library and Knowledge Center, Anggrek Campus. The 22nd edition of the Lecture Series brought Maher Nasser, Director of The Outreach Divison, Department of Public Information, United Nations Headquarter, New York as the speaker.

During the session, Mr. Nasser discussed about brief history of United Nations, its role to maintain world peace among nations and the collaboration establishes between UN with both universities and civil societies. He also addressed the importance of human rights and its progress until today. The students were given the opportunity to participate through voicing questions and sharing their opinions about the topics. The lecture was concluded with a token of appreciation to Mr. Nasser and a photo group together.
