Jakarta, 17 May — In the latest International Sharing Forum facilitated by Dr. Respati Wulandari, S.H., M.M., the Head of the Internationalization and Partnership Program at the BINUS Business School’s (BBS) Undergraduate Program, we brought several key takeaways on we can maximize hybrid work arrangements brought by Dr. John A. Pearce II, a distinguished scholar from Eastern University, USA, together with Prof. Dr. Tirta Nugraha Mursitama, Ph.D. as our Vice-Rector Collaboration & Global Engagement.

Hybrid Work is Here to Stay due to its Benefits

Dr. John A. Pearce II, a distinguished scholar from Eastern University, USA, and recognized as a Top 2% Scientist in the World in 2020 by Stanford University, presented his findings. He emphasized that hybrid workers in US companies show higher engagement, better well-being, and lower turnover risks due to reduced burnout and improved retention.

The Crucial Role of Managers
Dr. Pearce highlighted the essential role of managers as middle-level leaders in hybrid work environments. Their responsibility includes fostering collaboration and engagement among their teams to successfully navigate workplace changes.

Addressing Challenges with Hybrid Systems
Prof. Tirta highlighted that a hybrid working system could effectively address the challenges faced by faculty members, such as commuting between campuses. He emphasized that successful implementation of a hybrid model at BINUS University would require careful consideration of necessary cultural adaptations to ensure it meets the unique needs of their academic environment.
