IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) Co-Funding is part of the Kampus Merdeka Program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), using a partial funding scheme between the government and the student to allow greater opportunity for Indonesians to study for a semester at the best universities around the world. The Co-Funding scheme of the IISMA Program was initiated due to the significant increase in enthusiasm among the students, their home institutions, and the IISMA partner institutions abroad.

As part of Kampus Merdeka, initiated by Kemdikbudristek, the opportunity to study abroad is open to undergraduate students from all Indonesian higher education institutions under DIKTI.

Award Coverage
Funding by IISMA Self-Funding
  • Registration and tuition fees at the host university are waived.
    • Students must still pay BP3 and SKS fees at BINUS.
  • Roundtrip flight (economy class, at cost).
  • Emergency fund
  • Visa application costs
  • Settlement and living allowance
  • Health insurance
  • Quarantine fees at the host country (if any)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be an Indonesian citizen (WNI) currently residing in Indonesia and do not have dual citizenship;
  • Enroll as an active Undergraduate Indonesian Student of recognized universities in Indonesia under DIKTI during application and the program
  • In semester 4 or 6 of the undergraduate (S1) program during the application period
    • Will be in the “3+1 Enrichment” Period during Odd Semester 2023/2024
  • Have a cumulative GPA of a minimum of 3.0 (out of 4.0) proven by the latest academic transcript**
  • Have adequate English proficiency* with a minimum score of IELTS –6.0, TOEFL iBT –78, Duolingo English Test –100 to IISMA’s official institutional code of respective English test**
  • Not have participated in more than one (1) Kampus Merdeka Program before the IISMA Program
  • Never have participated in an overseas physical mobility/exchange program (including Summer Program, Internship, Exchange, Credit Mobility, Sit-in, Dual/double degree, or other credit-bearing program conducted abroad during the undergraduate study)
  • Never have taken college leave during the undergraduate study
  • Not receive the living allowance from the other funding/scholarship from the Kemendikburistekand LPDP (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan) during the IISMA Program
    Not participate in other Kampus Merdeka programs at the same time as the IISMA Program
  • Be a maximum of 23 years old on 1 July 2023 (applicants born on or before 30 June 2000 are not eligible to apply)
  • Never have violated the rules, norms, and/or laws applied in Indonesia
  • Be willing to follow the rules and regulations during participating in IISMA
  • Received approval from the Head of the Program/Department
  • Have a recommendation letter from BINUS International Office (BINUS IO)

Important Note:
* The BUEPT/BIEPT, TOEFL ITP, or other English proficiency certificates are unacceptable.
** If the host university requires a higher level of English proficiency and/or GPA, applicants must meet that requirement to continue their application
