BINUS UNIVERSITY Solidifies Its Leading Role in THE World University Rankings 2026

Jakarta, 9 October – BINUS University sustains its international reputation in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, ranking within the 1201-1500 band globally and holding the third position among Indonesia’s leading universities.  

THE’s rigorous evaluation involved 2,191 institutions across 115 countries. Universities were assessed in five key areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Industry, which underscores the credibility of the ranking and the university’s commitment to global standards.  

This year marks another leap in our journey of growth and impact. Teaching scores have risen, reflecting the university’s commitment to foster an inclusive learning environment not only for undergraduate students but also for our postgraduate students. At the same time, our research ecosystem continues to grow stronger, supported by an increasing number of impactful studies and collaborations.  

“We achieved this global recognition through the collective efforts of our Binusian community, including lecturers, staff, students, alumni, and supporting partners, all sharing a common goal of fostering innovation and making a positive impact. We hope this recognition will inspire more higher education institutions in Indonesia to continue improving our national education system for the benefit of society,” as mentioned by Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M, as the Rector of BINUS University.  

Our industry partnerships have also deepened to strengthen talent development in line with industry needs. Moreover, the university’s international outlook continues to expand, reflected through global collaborations, academic exchanges, and international learning opportunities that enrich our community’s global experiences.  

Lastly, this recognition affirms our academic quality and reinforces the university’s mission to deliver world-class education that empowers society through an inclusive learning environment, advancement of research quality, and strong connections with local and global stakeholders, as we are committed to shaping a future where education empowers people and builds a more connected and resilient society.
