A Semester of Learning, Cultural Exchange, and Lifelong Friendships

Jakarta, 13 January – To celebrate the strong bonds formed over the semester, the Internationalization team, together with iBuddy+ volunteers who serve as buddies for our international students, organized a heartfelt Farewell Party for these inbound students, who came from various countries, including France, South Korea, the Netherlands, China, Russia, the Philippines, Slovakia, Brunei Darussalam, and Japan at Portal Coffee.

It feels like just yesterday that they began their semester-long studies in early September 2024 at BINUS University, diving into the rich cultural diversity of our learning environment and the unique characteristics of Indonesia’s society nature.

“I’m so happy to see your enthusiasm for exploring different cultures and participating in various campus and local community activities. These experiences will help you grow as you learn to adapt to and appreciate the differences you encounter. I hope these experiences stay with you as lasting memories,” said Dr. Rini Setiowati, our Vice-Rector of Collaboration and Global Engagement.

Our students’ diverse backgrounds fostered a unique sense of cultural and communication understanding, creating lasting connections among the students, faculty, and staff who supported them during their academic journey.

“This experience has been eye-opening, as I gained a richer understanding of global diversity. Even though I struggled to adapt to Indonesian food for the first two months, I enjoyed meeting multicultural friends and taking the challenge of exploring Indonesia and carrying these experiences with me in my journey ahead,” said Sam Annette L. Bultot from Belgium’s
UCLL University of Applied Sciences.

Thank you for being with us, it wouldn’t be possible without you! We can’t wait for the next time our paths cross!
