A Festive Week of Global Connections and Learning Across Campuses at BINUS International Week 2026
Jakarta, 15 May – Global learning does not always begin with a journey abroad. Through BINUS Internasional Week (iWeek) 2026, we once again bring Internationalization at Home to Life by connecting our academic community, especially our students, with our global partners.

Running from 11–13 May 2026 in a hybrid format, iWeek 2026 carried the theme “Beyond Borders: Empowering Global Minds for a Sustainable Future.” The event took place onsite across Greater Jakarta and Bandung campuses, while also being accessible from BINUS campus sites across cities in Semarang, Malang, and Medan. This created a wider space for the BINUS community to exchange ideas, aspirations, and expertise with more than 30 partners from over 10 countries across Asia, Australia, Europe, and the USA in fostering global awareness and collaboration for long-term positive change.

As the event officially began at our Anggrek Campus, Rector Nelly underlined how iWeek reflects BINUS University’s continuing effort to connect students with the wider world.
“For forty-five years, BINUS University has held one vision at its core: fostering and empowering society in building and serving the nation. iWeek is, in many ways, an expression of that commitment. It is our way of saying that no institution grows well on its own, and that our students deserve to be shaped not only by what happens within these walls, but by the wider world they are preparing to enter.”

In the last five years, iWeek has grown into a vibrant platform where Binusians can connect directly with international partners through exhibitions, sharing sessions, cultural performances, and partners’ dinners. The energy of the event was also brought to life by our students, who added excitement through various creative performances and made the atmosphere even more vibrant across campuses.

“This year’s iWeek offers a wider range of guest lecture topics and more interactive engagement during the exhibition, while also expanding its reach by bringing our partners to BINUS @Bandung. Seeing our students’ enthusiasm to connect with international partners makes this program even more meaningful. For years ahead, I hope iWeek can continue to grow by involving more partners and open even wider opportunities for students to study abroad, pursue further education, and gain access to scholarships,” shared Vice-Rector Rini Setiowati.

With the opening held at our Anggrek Campus and the closing at BINUS @Bandung – Paskal Campus, the enthusiasm was truly high from start to finish. The excitement continued on the second day, as we brought the partners closer to our communities at Alam Sutera and Senayan Campuses.

With 30 sharing sessions offered across campuses, students had plenty of opportunities to gain new insights. Among the highlights was a session by Frans Elyan from Monash University, which drew students into a timely discussion on future talent, the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing human expertise, and how we can stay relevant in tomorrow’s job market.

That curiosity continued as students moved through the exhibition, where they had the chance to meet international partners directly, ask questions, and explore study abroad opportunities that could shape their future academic journey. Among them was Keisha, a second-semester Business Law student, who came to the exhibition with her friend and shared her excitement about exploring study abroad opportunities.

“This International Week is really helpful for students like me who are interested in studying abroad. I am interested in studying in Europe, especially in the Netherlands. My parents suggested that I start my studies at BINUS first, but I still have the dream to go abroad. Through this event, I can learn more about the opportunities and feel even more encouraged to pursue it,” she shared.

She also shared how the event atmosphere made the experience more exciting.
“Overall, I think the event is really good. Since the opening, it has already felt festive, with the music, decoration, and international atmosphere. It really shows the connection with other countries, and I enjoyed it a lot.”

The excitement was not only felt among students. Our partners, who had been working closely with us for months to bring iWeek to life, also shared how the program opened wider connections with BINUS staff, lecturers, and fellow partners through cultural activities, partners’ dinner, and even during the trip to Bandung.

Eline de Ruiter from the University of Twente, the Netherlands, also expressed that she truly enjoyed being part of iWeek. For her, the program was a great opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world, learn more about different universities, and experience the warmth of the BINUS community.

Charles Quellec from Rennes School of Business, France, also described iWeek as a week of connection.
“It has been a pleasure to join this year’s iWeek with BINUS. Over the past three days, I have had the chance to meet many students who are interested in studying abroad and exploring international opportunities. If I had to describe this week in one word, it would be connection. It has been great to be here, and thank you to BINUS for organizing everything,” added Charles.

From the excitement of students to the warm feedback from partners and leaders, this year’s iWeek showed the power of collaboration across BINUS. Throughout the event, we connected our academic community with global partners, opened more study abroad possibilities, and encouraged students to look ahead to their future with wider perspectives.

As iWeek 2026 wrapped up, we are grateful to our partners, teams, students, especially iBuddy+, BINUS STAR, and iVolunteers, whose support and enthusiasm helped make this year’s iWeek a lively and successful three-day event.
