Gearing Up for Global Experiences
Bogor — Together with over 150 students from BINUS University’s Kemanggisan, Bandung, Semarang, and Malang campuses, we organized a pre-departure briefing program on July 25th and 26 at Kebunsu Villa Bogor, West Java.
The program had a focus on academic preparation as well as aimed to encourage connections between students and promote cultural exchanges for their upcoming semester abroad.
Studying abroad is an important part of our university’s program, offering students the perfect opportunity to gain new experiences and make friends worldwide. Additionally, by studying at leading global institutions, which are our partners, students will ensure they have the best possible study experience.
During their time at Kebunsu Villa Bogor, they enjoyed learning about projects and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This knowledge will be valuable to them as they understand their role in contributing to sustainability efforts.
In addition to these sessions, the program featured a group project aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). They had a time to showcase their skill in cooking Indonesian delicacies and shared them with people in need in the surrounding area. This project served as a practical implementation of UNSDG #2 (Zero Hunger), UNSDG #12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and UNSDG #17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These activities were designed to foster initiative, leadership, and other soft skills critical for the student’s study abroad journey.
The Pre-Departure Briefing was well-received by participants, who appreciated the comprehensive preparation and engaging activities. The hands-on experience and community interaction not only provided valuable insights but also equipped students with practical skills, ensuring BINUS STAR students are ready to represent BINUS University on the global stage with confidence.
We are excited about our students’ journey in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Australia! Some students will venture abroad to universities such as Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, People’s Friendship University of Russia, and the University of the Fraser Valley, Canada. These promising opportunities await our students, and we are confident in their readiness for the adventures ahead!
In addition, many of our students have been awarded scholarships to support their international studies, including the prestigious Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) and the Canada-ASEAN Scholarship and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED). Their achievements reflect the high standards of education and the spirit of global citizenship that we foster at BINUS University.
