NUNI’s Participation as Part of ‘Indonesia’s Digital Transformation Multi-Stakeholders Partnership
Jakarta, January 16, 2024 – The Nationwide University Network of Indonesia (NUNI), the Digital Leaders Association of Indonesia (APDI), and the several United Nations (UN) agencies in Indonesia such as UNDP, FAO, UNINDO, convened for an initial meeting or kick-off at BINUS @Senayan, JWC Campus.
The purpose of this meeting was to plan a strategic partnership aimed at gathering knowledge resources to support Indonesia’s adaptation to modern economic developments and considered a strategic step in responding to digital divides and empowering the younger generation in Indonesia to actively contribute to shaping the digital future. In addition, the meeting highlights the importance of open dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collective cooperation to address challenges.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ir. Y. Budi Widianarko, the Chairman of NUNI, emphasized the pivotal role of universities in addressing the digital divide and ensuring fair access to opportunities. This partnership is regarded as a valuable platform for collaboration in the exchange of knowledge among universities, while simultaneously designing innovative solutions that contribute to digital inclusivity in Indonesia.
APDI, as a major force in the digital landscape of Indonesia, is also participating in this partnership with the goal of bridging the gap between academia and industry. With a focus on skills such as data analysis and artificial intelligence to empower the younger generation in Indonesia to thrive in the continuously evolving digital economy.
We cannot wait to share with the follow up of this activity where It is expected that this partnership will involve more stakeholders, government entities, and universities in Indonesia in the coming months, further strengthening Indonesia’s commitment to preparing the younger generation with relevant digital skills and knowledge.
