Cultivating Sustainable Environmental Leadership at NUNI Student Camp
Makassar, 25 November 2023 – The Student Camp event was once again held as part of the Presidential Forum of the Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) at Hasanuddin University.
The theme brought the theme of “Cultivating Environmental Sustainability Leadership in Universities: Nurturing Tomorrow’s Eco-Conscious Changemakers,” to life and attract over 50 students from across the archipelago. They had the opportunity to engage directly with local communities such as the Lakkang Tourist Village, Lakkang Village, Tallo, the Fatimah Az-zahra Women Fishermen Group (KWN), Pattingalloang Sub-district, Ujung Tanah District, and Alla-Alla Village, Batua Sub-district, to understand the environmental issues faced in each area. The information gathered was utilized by the students to present their innovative ideas to the NUNI leadership as a form of experiential learning.
Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil., the Vice-Rector for Partnerships, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business at Hasanuddin University, emphasized the necessity of leveraging the demographic bonus, which refers to the majority of the Indonesian population being dominated by a productive generation.
