Building a Resilient Blue Economy through the Implementation of Digital Transformation Strategies
Jakarta, June 22, 2023 – BINUS University, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Padjajaran University held a discussion event titled “Building a Resilient Blue Economy through the Implementation of Digital Transformation Strategies”. The event took place at BINUS @Senayan, JWC Campus, on June 22, 2023, with the aim of realizing Indonesia’s dream of becoming a global maritime axis.
During the event, the keynote speaker, Aulia Riza Farhan, S.T., M.Sci.Tech., Ph.D., the Acting Head of Data, Statistics, and Information Center, Secretariat General of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, stated that the primary goal of the blue economy is to prioritize the health of the oceans in line with economic activities in the maritime and fisheries sectors. This is done to create a more advanced and prosperous society.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo, M.M., the Rector of BINUS University, expressed his support for the Blue Economy policy implemented by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. He explained that BINUS University’s vision for 2035 focuses on nurturing and empowering the community and making contributions to the development of technology and digitalization in various aspects of education, including the maritime and fisheries sectors.
Similar sentiments were shared by Yudi Nurul Ihsan, the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Padjajaran University. He mentioned that Padjajaran University, with its Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, has produced numerous graduates, established strong networks, and formed partnerships in the field of maritime and fisheries to support the Blue Economy policy.
This discussion is crucial because digital transformation plays a crucial role in the development of the maritime and fisheries sectors. Implementing digital transformation strategies can help improve operational efficiency, resource management, and the marketing of marine and fisheries products.
