Global Class International Relations Study Visit to the Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam
BINUS University Global Class International Relations students and staff had a chance to virtually meet His Excellency Mr. Vincent Piket, Ambassador of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam through a study visit held on Friday, June 11, 2021. The study visit was led by BINUS Global Director, Dr. Diah Wihardini and moderated by Dr. Paramitaningrum, Deputy Head of Global Class Program.
Ambassador Piket shared a lecture titled “The EU – Indonesia Relations”, in which he presented the many areas of EU and Indonesia cooperation, including the green agenda, sustainable economic development, education, as well as civil society as priorities.
During his presentation, Ambassador Piket also explained the priorities of the EU now, including the Covid-19 pandemic, green recovery, climate and circular economy, digital Europe, as well as foreign policy.
Ambassador Piket also highlighted BINUS University’s participation in this cooperation through Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree. He also mentioned that 24 students and scholars from BINUS went to Europe, and that 8 students and scholars from Europe came to BINUS through this collaboration.
The presentation was followed by a Q&A session, in which students were actively participating to gain insights from the Ambassador about various topics, ranging from international language, EU sustainability efforts, as well as the next plan from EU moving forward.
