The Two-Degree Advantage – Study in Jakarta and Open a World of Opportunities
BINUS UNIVERSITY held an online info session titled “The Two–Degree Advantage – Study in Jakarta & Open a World of Opportunities” at the NISC University Fair 2021 on April 7th, 2021. NISC (Network of Indonesian School Counsellors) is a network comprised of university guidance counsellors from high schools in Indonesia. The fair lasted from April 7-9, 2021, exclusive to students in Indonesia.
The info session focused on BINUS UNIVERSITY‘s Two-Degree program partnership with the University of Newcastle, Australia (UoN), to deliver an affordable world class 4+0 study option for business programs. This program enables students to receive degrees from world-class universities: BINUS UNIVERSITY and the University of Newcastle, Australia without having to leave Jakarta or Indonesia.
The session was moderated by Primidya Kartika Miranda Soesilo, Head of Business Management & Marketing program of BINUS BUSINESS SCHOOL (AACSB accredited). She started off the event by introducing BINUS and its partnership with UoN Australia. As one of the BINUS UNIVERSITY alumnae, she also got a chance to share her previous study experience.
This online info session was divided into three main topics presented by three different speakers. Sian Healy, Executive Manager – Communications and Governance at Nurture Higher Education, UK started the presentation by explaininghow students can make the most of an international study experience in Jakarta, while enhancing their employability and skills through Two–Degree Program with the University of Newcastle, Australia. She also mentioned a success story from one the Indonesian alumnae, Noni Sri Ayati Purnomo, who holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Newcastle, is now known as President Director of Blue Bird Group.
The next part of the info session was presented by Marcus Teo as Senior Regional Officer at University of Newcastle, Australia. Marcus spoke about BINUS UNIVERSITY’s and University of Newcastle’s Two–Degree Program and the added value of international education at home.
After the session from UoN, the moderator then continued by holding a Q&A session. The participants were excited mainly to learn more about the requirements to apply for BINUS UNIVERSITY’s double degree programs and the admission process.
The event then continued to a presentation from Satriya Niko Firdaus, International Student Recruitment Section Head at BINUS UNIVERSITY, Indonesia. He provided a detailed explanation of the admission processes, tuition fees, and scholarship offers.
The event lasted for 1.5 hours and overall, the participants were keen to learn more about the value of 4+0 options and how this unique program combinations can help them achieve career goals.
