BINUS UNIVERSITY’s Entrepreneurship Workshop with HALI Access Network
BINUS UNIVERSITY held an online workshop focusing on entrepreneurship for students who part of the High-Achieving Low-Income (HALI) Access Network on the 28th of January, 2021 through Zoom. The event was hosted by the International Communication, Engagement and Student Recruitment (ICESR) unit in collaboration with BINUS UNIVERSITY’s Center of Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship, & Research, Mr. Indra Kurniawan.
HALI Access Network is an African based non-profit organization that helps excellent students from low-income households in Africa to gain high-quality education from around the world. BINUS UNIVERSITY has been HALI’s partner and provided the opportunity for HALI’s amazing students to study in BINUS UNIVERSITY, the top 1 private university in Indonesia, through the World Class Scholarship scheme.
The event provided the students of HALI Access Network to have the opportunity to get a glimpse of one of the things that they will be learning at BINUS UNIVERSITY. The workshop Mr. Indra delivered was an interesting workshop on how to hatch a perfect business idea in simple steps. The workshop was interactive and the students were very active throughout the session.
The students from the HALI Access Network were from various countries in Africa, including Zimbabwe, Somaliland, Kenya and more. The workshop ended with a Q&A and how should the students come up with an idea for business solutions where they are.
After the workshop was done, Mr. Niko Firdaus, the International Student Recruitment Section Head, gave a short presentation about BINUS UNIVERSITY, the university’s international programs, admissions process, scholarships and more. Mr. Niko also talked about Jakarta, Indonesia, as a viable study destination option for the students as the city provided a low-cost of living whilst being a metropolitan city.
Overall, the virtual session held was a success as the students were actively participating and interested in learning more about the university.
