BINUS UNIVERSITY Signs MOU with Finland University Consortium
On 20th September 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY signed an MoU with the Finland University Consortium at its Anggrek campus in Jakarta. The Finland University Consortium is a unique partnership that brings together four Finnish universities — University of Eastern Finland, University of Tampere, University of Turku, and the Åbo Akademi University — under one centre, thus enhancing the standards of education made available to students. The two institutions are set to collaborate on several key areas such as student and faculty mobility programs, internships, and joint research.
Present at the event was Mr Pasi Jaskinen as the Executive Vice President of Finland University Consortium; Ms Mari Argillander as Key Account Manager; Mr Vesa Valkila as Head of Turku International School; Ms Kristiina Heikkila as Head of the Department of Teacher Education; and Ms Anna Alasuutari as Project Coordinator.
Finnish higher education institutions have consistently ranked amongst the world’s best universities, with quality assurance systems being regularly implemented to improve the study and learning experience. All the universities involved in the consortium are in the top 2% of global university rankings and have more than 57,000 students combined in attendance. As such, this collaboration will benefit BINUS UNIVERSITY as it will positively impact the university’s own educational resources as well as help propose wide-ranging solutions for various sectors such as food technology and bioinformatics, among many others.
In an increasingly globally-integrated world, BINUS UNIVERSITY understands the importance of international collaboration to improve students’ skills so they can make their mark on vital local industries.
