BINUS UNIVERSITY Hosts Suffolk University
From 14th-17th May 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY hosted Suffolk University at its JWC campus in Jakarta. Suffolk University had the opportunity to visit Indonesian SMEs and develop strategies in which SMEs can export their products into the European market.
As the backbone of the Indonesian economy, SMEs with some 97% of the workforce employed by this sector and contributing to 57% of GDP. However, local SMEs now face a new reality of being challenged through the AEC and therefore require to be more competitive and innovative to survive. This thus presents the opportunity for institutions such as Suffolk University to work with SMEs to develop new platforms as well as consult in areas such as branding and advertising.
Through this visit, BINUS UNIVERSITY hopes to initiate more collaborations with the for student and faculty exchange, research, as well as other joint ventures; providing the foundations for its graduates and SMEs to succeed in developing major academic and industry breakthroughs.
