BINUS UNIVERSITY Hosts BINUS Festival 2018

H.E Professor Admasu Tsegaye, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Indonesia

From 4th – 7th May 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY held its bi-yearly BINUS Festival event. This enrichment programme provides a series of seminars covering topics that illustrate the impact of globalization on Indonesia and the world. Held across its campuses in Jakarta and BSD, this year’s theme focused on ‘Health and Wealth’, which encompassed lectures that included global food security, child health, HIV/AIDS, and sustainable agriculture; among many others.

H.E. Hor Nam Bora, Ambassador of Kingdom Cambodia to Indonesia

The event featured an array of prominent guest speakers from renowned multi-national companies such as Michelin and Apple, in addition to foreign diplomats, government representatives, NGOs, and leading scholars. The speakers highlighted that continuing health improvements within a society can enhance productivity, bolster economies, and create jobs. Furthermore, this would also improve the development of children in schools as healthy diets and lifestyles can increase concentration, memory, and mental capacity during the crucial periods of their education.

Through this event, BINUS UNIVERSITY demonstrated its dedication to supporting the United Nations’ 2030 agenda for sustainable development. As such, by exposing students to important subjects such as health and human rights, graduates are thus prepared for the many challenges facing Indonesia as it continues to integrate with the global economy.
