Discussing Solutions with the Higher Education Coordination Board
On 7th March 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY hosted a visit from the Maluku and North Maluku Region XII chapter of KOPERTIS – Indonesia’s Higher Education Coordinating Board — at its Anggrek Campus in Jakarta. The visit is part of a collaborative effort between KOPERTIS and the university to develop a framework that best nurtures the potential of its students and faculty members. Present at the event was the Coordinator of KOPERTIS for Maluku and North Maluku Dr Muhammad Bugis, BINUS UNIVERSITY’s Rector Prof Dr Harjanto Prabowo, and Vice Rector of Student Affairs Mr Johan, S.Kom.
The meeting between the two institutions examined the current challenges posed to BINUS UNIVERSITY and the country’s education sector, as well as the most effective strategies needed to improve academic quality. As such, the discussions focused on important topics such as academic and campus operations, management of scientific journals through the Scopus platform, quality assurance systems, and the availability of resources to facilitate start-up businesses; areas through which BINUS UNIVERSITY has garnered a reputation for setting the highest of standards.
As a university that has made immense investments in its student facilities and human capital, BINUS UNIVERSITY continues to cooperate with KOPERTIS to successfully develop an education system that delivers tailored curricula to meet industry demands. This has also resulted in the university being recognised as a leading higher education institution in Indonesia — a distinction that is supported by its ‘A’ accreditation from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT).
