BINUS NORTHUMBRIA SCHOOL OF DESIGN HOLDS ARTVOLUTION 2017: CHROMA
The BINUS Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) is hosting Artvolution 2017, an annual routine event attended by Graphic Design and New Media and Fashion program students. Artvolution 2017 has the theme “CHROMA”. It is being held for five days, from 5 to 9 December 2017, at the BINUS fX campus, Jakarta.
In this year’s Artvolution, interesting activities are being held such as an exhibition, seminar, and also workshop. On the first day, Artvolution 2017 presented an exhibition where Graphic Design and New Media and Fashion students from the second year to the final year showcased their works. In addition, there was also a Comic Making Workshop with Ario Anindito, a professional comic artist who has experience as a penciler and inker at the Marvel Comics, Talk Show: “What’s Next after Graduating from Fashion School?” It had three alumnae, Widya Rahmaningrum, Athalia Rebecca, and Karanindya, and an Embroidery Workshop with Ancilla Quena
Artvolution 2017 held a variety of other activities that are just as exciting. These activities include a 3D Pen Workshop, Instagram “Baddie” Makeup Workshop, and Porcelain Accessory Workshop.
Aira, an ArtVolution 2017 committee member, explained that Artvolution 2017 uses the name “CHROMA” because this year’s event emphasizes many colors. This also corresponds to the “Colors within You” tagline used.
He also revealed that events such as Artvolution 2017 play a role to inspire him. “Seeing the work of the class sisters and their thesis results inspired me and also encouraged me to produce good work. It kind of stepped up my standards,” said Aira who is also a first year student in the department of Graphic Design.
