Boosting Indonesia’s Digital Economy –Apple’s iOS Foundation Program Unfolds at BINUS
Since April 2017, BINUS University has been preparing iOS Foundation Program in collaboration with Apple. Being the first of its kind in Asia, the program aims to inspire world-class developers and prepare them for a thriving mobile economy. This unique 4-week program will orientate students in SWIFT programming language and Apple’s innovation framework – challenge based learning. Students will experience the process of applications innovation, and they will be able to create a functioning prototype by the end of the program.
This program equips students with analytical thinking, creativity and practical programming skills supporting President Jokowi’s vision of Indonesia as the largest digital economy in SE Asia by 2020. The president has pledged to support 1000 technopreneurs. He is developing an e-commerce roadmap, economic policy packages and financing schemes for SMEs and IT start-ups. Ignition events and hackathons together with incubation will help turn Indonesian youth from avid consumers of electronic products into avid technopreneurs. The universities and the industry are helping the initiative as Apple – BINUS partnership showcases.
