AIESEC BINUS Realising the Sustainable Development Goals
BINUS UNIVERSITY recently initiated a partnership with renowned organisation, AIESEC, which focuses on realising the Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the United Nations. As part of the partnership, BINUS UNIVERSITY and its partner is poised to highlight topics on entrepreneurship in addition to hunger and food security; a previous project covered the global issue of environmental sustainability. As such, AIESEC and BINUS UNIVERSITY is set to carry out the Zero Hunger Project that will take place at the university’s Alam Sutera campus location. The AIESEC BINUS project involves the active participation of BINUS UNIVERSITY students in which students will also hold the responsibility of spearheading wide-ranging initiatives; this measure is implemented as a means of providing enrolled students the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills.
Utilising its far-reaching network of partners, BINUS UNIVERSITY has also moved ahead in cooperating with prominent local and international companies as well as organisations to swiftly realise the goals of the AIESEC BINUS project. As such, the university has also initiated a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in which the WWF will serve as BINUS UNIVERSITY’s partner for learning and knowledge on environment-related topics. Through its cooperation with WWF, the university is set to carry out a roadshow event throughout schools in several cities in Indonesia in an effort to increase greater awareness on environmental issues; the roadshow will additionally provide in-depth information on environmental protection.
Furthermore, BINUS UNIVERSITY had also forged a partnership with Lazada and Zomato for the Summer Project in 2015 which took on the theme on entrepreneurship. In keeping with the AIESEC BINUS project, BINUS UNIVERSITY and AIESEC will make available a student exchange programme to promote cross-cultural learning amongst university students and members of the organisation.
