BINUS STAR Community 101: Inspiring Dreams at Kampus Diakonia Modern (KDM)

The BINUS STAR Community 101 event at Kampus Diakonia Modern (KDM) was an inspiring day filled with excitement, learning, and meaningful reflections on independence last weekend (24 August 2024). With the theme “Reflecting on the Meaning of Independence Towards Indonesia Emas 2045,” this event aimed to empower young minds while fostering a sense of community and hope for a brighter future.

The event started with an energetic and heartwarming dance performance by the children of KDM, accompanied by the song “Setinggi Langit.” The lyrics, “I can be anything as high as the sky with no limits,” set the perfect tone for the day, symbolizing limitless potential and inspiring the participants to dream big.

BINUS STAR and iBuddy+ teams joined hands to engage with the children of KDM in a series of interactive activities. Through carefully designed games and discussions, the participants were encouraged to reflect on the true meaning of independence, not just as a historical event but as a continuous process of growth and achievement for the nation.

The discussions were aimed at helping the children understand their role in shaping the future of Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of education, leadership, and community in the journey towards Indonesia Emas 2045. The event created a lively and inspiring atmosphere where ideas flowed, creativity was nurtured, and bonds were strengthened.

BINUS University, through BINUS STAR and the iBuddy+, took this opportunity to inspire and guide the children of KDM, planting seeds of ambition and resilience in their hearts. The games, which were both educational and fun, allowed the children to express their hopes for the future, while the reflective discussions helped them connect the ideals of independence to their personal lives and dreams.

One of the participants from KDM shared, “Terima kasih atas pembelajaran hari ini. Tadi kita diskusi tentang kemerdekaan juga, terus tentang masa depan nanti di tahun 2045 ya. Makasih banyak. Berkat dari situ, saya – kita banyak belajar untuk lebih mempersiapkan diri kita nanti. Terima kasih. (Thank you for the lesson today. We were discussing about the independency and the Indonesia future in 2045. Thank you. From there, we learned to better prepare ourselves. Thank you)”.

This event was more than just a day of fun and learning. It was a shared journey toward understanding every individual’s significant role in achieving the nation’s vision of becoming Indonesia Emas 2045.
