BINUS UNIVERSITY Welcomes Australian Government Delegation
BINUS UNIVERSITY recently hosted an event with delegates from Australia on 17th May 2016 as a means to further expand its network of institutional partners. Prominent guest speakers at the event that took place at the Anggrek Campus included the Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Mr Paul Grigson and the Deputy Premier of Queensland Ms Jackie Trad as well as Chief Executive Officer of BINA NUSANTARA Group Mr Bernard Gunawan, Rector of BINUS UNIVERSITY Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo, and the university’s Vice Rector of Research & Technology Transfer Prof. Bahtiar Saleh Abbas, Ph.D.
The event programme provided student participants with information regarding “The Best Semester Abroad” campaign launched by Queensland’s local government. This programme will enable two Indonesian students to experience a semester at an esteemed university in Queensland and covers airfare, stipend, and other amenities valued at $30,000 AUD. In keeping with the state’s growing reputation as a hub for tech industries and entrepreneurship, “The Best Semester Abroad” initiative is particularly keen to identifying local students with a penchant for innovation and creativity – characteristics emphasised by BINUS UNIVERSITY. For high-achieving programme participants, the Australian government will provide an additional $30,000 AUD in funding.
