Experiencing Melting Pot in Jakarta

DESCRIPTION

This program targeting students who are eager to challenge their ability in developing their design inspired by diversity.

The five days program will bring the students to witness the real melting pot up close. Through the cultural visits, they will be introduced to the colorful Jakarta where all the diverse ethnic groups melt into one. The participants will be brought to collect inspiring sights and ideas on how various elements of history and culture connected to each other.

Upon completion, students are expected to be able to perform their design framework inspired by their short visit in Jakarta. The outcomes of the program is a product campaign in 2D format.

PROGRAM

The classes cover the main areas of:

  • Visual Design
  • Discovering Wonderful Indonesia: Bhinneka Tunggal Ika
  • Introduction to Bahasa Indonesia

  • Lectures (including theories, case study, independent study)
  • Group project (including discussion and final presentation)
❯❯ Excursions

The Program includes:

  • Visit to company/institution/organization
  • Cultural trip

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The applicants are expected to fulfil the following requirements to be able to join the program:

  • Related Major: Architecture, Visual Communication Design, Interior Design
  • Minimum GPA: 2.75 out of 4 (or equivalent)
  • Minimum TOEFL Score: 500 (or equivalent)
APPLICATION AND PAYMENT

Applicants who wish to participate in the Short Program must apply by November 26, 2017. The selected participants will be notified within one week after the registration deadline.

PROGRAM FEE

This program is free (for limited seats), including:

  • Program Fee
  • Accommodation (4 nights – double dorm room)
  • Meals (4 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 4 dinners)
  • Visit and excursion
  • Local Transportation
  • Airport pick-up
